New entry in the Trails game series
Trails of Cold Steel:NW is a free role-playing title for mobile made by developer Userjoy Technology Co., Ltd. It is a new entry to the popular Trails game series. It follows a group of soldiers tasked with infiltrating enemy territory to gather information about a threat to their homeland.
Taking place between The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II and The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III, Trails of Cold Steel:NW features a new side story based on an anime series made for the franchise. It also boasts iconic scenes inspired by the show for fans to experience in a different way.
A new adventure awaits
The Trails franchise is a long-running series of RPGs set in a sci-fi fantasy world full of lore, expansive landscapes, and a diverse cast of characters to meet and know about through its mainline The Legend of Heroes releases. Here then comes Trails of Cold Steel:NW, a spin-off based on an original anime story that was inspired by the franchise.
In terms of mechanics, the game introduces the new Free Exploration Gameplay that lets you experience the game at your pace as you explore various locations in the vast continent of Zemuria. There are multiple game modes to choose from, such as the Arena and Field Raids, all wrapped around tactical turn-based combat that allows you to plan your moves ahead during battles.
The game also retains the classic Orbment System from previous releases that let you customize your skills and abilities with Master Quartz to suit your preferred play style. Now, as of this writing, it is not available yet, but you can already pre-register to get notified when it officially comes out, so you can dive right away and experience this new adventure.

If you've been a long-time fan of the series, Trails of Cold Steel:NW will come as a nice surprise, letting you experience the anime show in a different way.
